Visitors from all over the world flock to the beautiful beaches, amazing snorkeling and relaxing atmosphere. The one-loop, 1.2-mile swim takes place off the coast of Cozumel in the Caribbean Sea. Following the swim, athletes will embark on the 56-mile bike course from the Chankanaab Park parking lot (T1) and finish at T2 next to Cozumel’s City Hall in the heart of downtown. The 13.1-mile run course is all flat and paved and passes many of Cozumel’s signature sites, including its waterfront walk, downtown main plaza and historic neighborhoods. Baby Sea Turtle Observation Workshop Every year the island of Cozumel plays host to thousands of sea turtles coming ashore to nest!! The nesting starts during the nights of April and all through September, on the Eastern shore of the island. There are two species of sea turtles which come ashore to lay their eggs on the beaches of Cozumel, the loggerhead turtle and the green turtle. Generally they lay around 100-150 eggs they may come up and nest up to 6 times in one season!! Around 60 days later, the young hatchlings emerge usually at night when the temperatures are cooler, and immediately head back home for the ocean. You can be a part of this wonderful experience in the "BABY TURTLE OBSERVATION WORKSHOP" This eco-educational experience takes place from August 16th until September 17th at Faro Celarain Eco Park on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:00 p.m. You'll be able to watch how baby turtles emerge from their nest's and go out to the ocean. https://www.facebook.com/events/262870647155332/
